You will create a book review of A Long Way from Chicago by Richard Peck. You may either type or handwrite this assignment.

1. A completed graphic organizer (a copy will be given to you to complete)
2. The book’s title (underlined or in italics)
3. The author of the book
4. A description of the main characters (include at least one quotation from a character somewhere in the review)
5. A description of the setting (include the time period from American history, the places, and the years)
6. A few events from the plot (Be very specific – use lots of details from the novel; use your timeline to help you.)
7. The audience for whom the book is intended
8. Whether you loved or hated the book and why
9. Persuasive writing to convince someone to read or avoid the book. Look at the examples given in class and try to model your paper in the same format.
