Don't forget ... the AR deadline is Jan. 18th. Be sure that you've met your points goal and also read a Classic by this date. For a list of Classics available at BCMS, you can go to the Media and Technology page from the school website.

EXTRA CREDIT

Due Dec. 3rd!
Write a poem, short story, or article for the yearbook describing a typical BCMS day, what it means to be a Bulldog, or a middle school experience you've had. Each student who submits an entry will receive 10 points added to this week's vocabulary test. Winning entries will be published in the yearbook!

AR at home: Info. for Parents and Students

According to Ms. Combs, AR can now be accessed at home. While students can not take AR tests, they can view goals, points earned, tests taken, etc. To log in from home, go to the BCMS website's Media and Technology Page. From here you will click on the link "AR for Parents." Use your child's username and password (it's the same one for egrades.)

EXTRA CREDIT

The Young Author's Contest is a great way to earn extra credit! I have entry forms for this in my classroom. The theme this year is "It's a Fact." You must write a nonfiction piece in poetry or prose about a true experience, a news article, or a biography. I will award 15 points extra credit on a test for students who follow all the directions. Entries are due to me by Nov. 5.

Students & Parents: Please read

Please make sure each child's parents have registered on Bulldog grades from the BCMS website. You will enter the site and click at the bottom where it says "parents please click here to access your student's grades." You will then enter an email address and a password. Once you complete the registration process, you will automatically be emailed each time a teacher sends out a progress report! You will need to know your child's username and password (they can tell you this; it's 17first initial and last name and then their password is their AR number.) Thanks for helping us keep you informed! Progress reports will go home Sept. 24th.
